WHAT IS THIS SHOW?

Crashbox is an educational children's TV series that was created by Eamon Harrington and John Watkin and the show was created for HBO Family. The show ran from 1999 to 2000. Even though the show doesn't have a physical media release, like being released on DVDs or VHS, the show currently has reruns being shown on HBO Family and the streaming service Max (formally known as HBO Max).

The show was created by Planet Grande Pictures and was animated by Cuppa Coffee Studios and Planet Grande Pictures was working with Cuppa Coffee Studios for 8 months to complete 13 hours of programming.

The show features several segments that educates the audience about subjects like history, math, spelling and nature and it all takes place within a game computer that is controlled by various robots and the sketches are often not connected with each other, as each segment is its own thing.

  • Crashbox is the second show on HBO to focus on educational skits done in a bizarre fashion. The first show to attempt this was 1983's Braingames
  • In the segment "Think Tank," the character Captain Bob was voiced by Greg Eagles who would later on go and voice the Grim Reaper in the animated series "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy."
